Bowie Style has arrived!

I must have the nicest drive to work ever!! from Fryup to Staithes in a mini in the sunshine lovely!  Recieved my copy of Bowie Style at the weekend and the verdict is I love it!! Surface pattern in a book!  I did a surface pattern degree and everyone always asks 'whats surface pattern?' so now I tell them i illustrate! sad huh but true.  Bowie Style puts surface pattern on the map, I am now proud to be a surface pattern designer lol!

New design for my Mug!! what do you think?

I've been busy trying to design my image for a mug! I love the picture above so I'm hoping that this will work and the colours will come up well. Fingers crossed! I haven't mentioned but I have been asked to illustrate a childrens book, which will be so exciting got a few frames done now so I cant wait to show the author! The other good news is I've been asked to join 'not mass produced' so fingers crossed I'm hoping its going to be successful for me. Yesterday me, phil and friends Emma and Nick headed for Castleford to xscape. http://www.xscape.co.uk/snow/castleford/ We had two lessons for snowboarding, so to day as you can imagine my legs are killing. I think I am inproving and we all enjoyed ourselves, then we headed for a well deserved hour or two in Ikea! I bought some shelf brackets for my workshop so I'm looking forward to getting those up, make the place look a bit more like home.

Snow is here again!!

Snow here again in fryup dale, so no going to the studio today. a lazy sunday afternoon.  May get some cleaning and tidying up done, I've been looking at it for sometime.  Gutted for the GB bobsleigh team.  Did you see the ice burns?  Painful.

Just been out on to the moor with husband and our two dogs, walked for over two hours.  They are now laying infront of the stove, both producing zzzzzzz's. (even phil)  

I have been asked to illustrate a childrens book so I'm really excited about that, so may spend the afternoon designing the characters.  

To the right an unfinished piece birds in a tree cant wait to get back to staithes to finish it.

To day I am at Staithes beevering away in my workshop, yesterday I was featured on http://www.idreamedisaw.com/ .  very exciting.  I am sat waiting for my wax to melt so I thought I stare at the aweful weather and check emails.  Ive also been asked to exhibit in london in november.  Oh the other exciting news is that I got into NYOS!! www.artconnections.co.uk

Just doing some very large pieces at the moment 50cm x 50cm so quite large compared to what I'm use too.  But i've just done the first layer (background)  cant wait to see the final result.  The base layer is above!

Its sunday evening, and I am reflecting on my weekend.  I have decided from now on, that I may give fairs a miss! Brave huh.  While sat in the town hall yesterday it suddenly dawned on me that I think that my time would be better spent, either going to galleries and trying to get more places interested in my work!

But the good news is I made four sales on Folksy today!
